pc software is the collection of programs and tools that allow the hardware in your computer work, making it possible to do a variety of tasks from writing documents in word format to creating graphics, to browsing the web. There are two kinds of pc software including application software and system software. Each of these works in a different manner and provides various types of capabilities for computers.
The most commonly used kind of PC software is the operating system (OS). It’s the primary program that you launch when you switch on your computer. It manages all the other system software and programs that run in the background. The typical computer user interacts with the OS via its graphical user interface (GUI) or in certain cases, a command-line interface that is less complicated.
Other types of computer software include device drivers. Compilers and interpreters convert high-level languages into low-level machine codes that can be executed by the CPU.
